Marcus Stanton

History / career

Marcus Stanton has over forty years’ experience of banking and finance. He is Managing Director of International Banking Consultants Ltd and a non-executive Director of a number of companies quoted on the London Stock Exchange.

The consultancy practice provides advice and research services in respect of complex financial transactions proceeding through litigation which involve banks, corporations and high net worth individuals. Expert evidence has regularly been provided, both in the UK and overseas. The practice has a particular emphasis on large transactions, often of an international nature with work undertaken in the UK, New Zealand, South Africa, Nigeria, Ireland, Canada, South Africa and Australia.

Marcus Stanton also acts as a non executive Director of a number of companies quoted on the London Stock Exchange, where he works with banks, private equity firms, financial advisors, corporate brokers and research analysts. Corporate transactions have included various initial public offerings, debt raises, corporate acquisitions, corporate valuations, company disposals and corporate finance matters generally. Marcus Stanton is typically Chair of the relevant Audit Committee.

Previous Directorships have included the investment bank Robert Fleming, where he was Head of Structured Finance and Chief Operating Officer of Global Capital Markets, and Hill Samuel, where he was a Director, Corporate Finance.

Marcus Stanton is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. He is also a member of the International Fiscal Association.
